Yes, you get SMP & your NHs Matternity Ask payroll for a breakdown of your pay , I got mine a few months before I started mat leave in may and it’s been accurate
I believe it's 8 weeks full pay, 13 weeks half pay, 13 weeks stat mat pay and 13 weeks unpaid if you take full year but definitely ask payroll about it all as you can ask for it to be broken down to monthly payments xx
It is included in your full pay weeks not on top… so 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay plus SMP, 13 weeks SMP, then goes unpaid…. You can spread it across the year if taking longer off
There's an online calculator that takes into account your Band and pension contributions etc. and it'll break down what you can expect based on your basic pay. x
Just make sure your manager sends in the physical mat B form because mine forgot to now I owe just over 2k to them. Although it has worked out alright because I have only just gotten a deduction in pay
I’ve had mine spreads out over 10 months so it ranges from 1.5k to 2k after tax
There is a NHS mums group on here that has lots of info. You need to get your trust maternity policy. If you qualify you will get 8 weeks full pay plus SMP, 18 weeks half pay plus SMP, 13 weeks SMP then rest unpaid. You can choose to spread this over 9 or 12 months to get a more equal payment. It is based on what you earn between weeks 17-25 of pregnancy so if you can do unsociable hours etc then it’s worth it in those weeks.
@Louise with some trusts it doesn’t have to be 9 or 12 , I was allowed to choose my months
@Louise you don’t get full pay plus SMP - it’s just full pay
@Emma yes sorry I went back to edit then realised I didn’t actually complete the edit lol
If you meet the qualifying criteria then yes you get occupational maternity pay. It will be detailed in your contract what the qualifying period is and how much you're entitled to
