PCOS

Was just told I have PCOS today and I had my daughter seven months ago on Saturday. That being said, could this be a result of having her?

having a baby does not increase your risk of PCOS! sorry to hear about your diagnosis ):

@Caitlyn thank you!!!

My mom is an excellent doctor who helps women’s with PCOS and does virtual visits if you want to pm me I can give you her contact. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, sometimes doctors misdiagnose keep your head up. ❤️

I got diagnosed around the same time but i also had gallbladder issues and had it taken out. I would get rechecked later though because my ovaries are not even considered to “PCOS ovaries” so my Dr was a little confused.

Absolutely! BUT you need to find a PCOS knowledgeable provider that can monitor you. It can go away if it was caused by things like the pill or a pregnancy. Your hormones are still all over the place and trying to find normal. PCOS is so much more than polycystic ovaries. It’s a huge hormonal and metabolic disorder. Having the right provider will make a world of difference. Definitely get rechecked in a few months. I had PCOS since i was 13 and i “reversed” it at 21, finally pregnant at 23, dormant in pregnancy, and RAGED in postpartum. It finally went back to baseline “reversed” 13 months PP, and was able to get pregnant at 15 months PP. I am on a load of supplements and lifestyle changes, but it is easy to manage.

This question really got me thinking. I have had PCOS (and stage IV endo) my entire life but didn’t get diagnosed till I was 25 almost 26. So I looked it up and general consensus is no you cannot get PCOS from pregnancy. You may have just had it without knowing or having the difficulty to get pregnant from it. Reach out if you ever have questions about PCOS (and endo).
