Care fertility prescriptions ?

Does anyone know if care charge for private prescription? My Care clinic use stork as standard but they are so expensive so id rather go elsewhere but unsure how it works? Do they charge extra if you want them to write a private prescription?

Yeah I am with Care Fertility and in one of the bits of paperwork I saw this was £250 for a prescription with Care Fertility.

Wow that’s crazy high mine just charges £50

Create fertility

Omg why is it £250 😧 that’s ridiculous

My clinic used to charge £50 but when I priced it up there wasn't much in it once I paid that extra fee x

I’m not with care, but I’m in a support chat and one of the mums is with care and they were charging her £250 for a prescription. She was only getting progesterone pessaries. I’m with nurture part of the fertility partnership. They don’t charge for prescriptions. They’ve just sent me my cyclogest prescription in the post and I’ve got them from my local pharmacy.

Yes, in my experience Care charge £250 if you want to go elsewhere with a prescription - I messaged them when their prices went up, thinking it was a typo (believe it was ~£25 previously) and even the clinic team seemed surprised at the start. It is indeed extortionate, and how they keep their huge profit margins I imagine.

@Danielle are you ivf with nurture fertility? If yes same as me 😁

@Nana yes. I am. We had my daughter with them in 2023 and I am now going for a second transfer! What stage are you at?

Next Thursday I have my frozen embryo transfer. My first fresh embryo didn’t work. Do you have any advise what best to do after embryo transfer that make you successful please? Do I need bed rest ? And did you take cyclogest as well?if yes did you put vaginally or rectum please? As my nurse told me 1 rectum morning and 2 vaginally at night. As you know cyclogest is very messy if put vaginally. Thank you ❤️

@Nana in all honestly I think it’s down to the embryo, but I didn’t do bed rest (it’s recommended to keep lightly active, walks etc), I just carried on as normal and went back to work after the transfer (office job at home so sitting down) I didn’t do a crazy diet, I just tried to keep things in moderation. And try to be as relaxed as possible. Only supplements I took were vitamins d and folic acid. I had cyclogest did them both vaginally but I was able to sit for 20 mins in the morning to let it absorb. This time I think I will do the morning one rectally as I have a 1 yr old to look after and then vaginally before bed so it absorbs. Best of luck.

@Danielle thank you , I do 1 rectum in morning and 2 night in vaginally. Finger cross this time. Hope work for this time as I been waiting for 5 years and was didn’t work first transfer. Thank you and good luck for you too ❤️❤️

@Danielle I just take Proceive supplements for few months. How about you?

@Nana my first fresh transfers didn’t work (I did one on the nhs with another clinic in 2019) my one with nurture worked but ended in a miscarriage. My first frozen transfer worked and is my daughter. I think the frozen transfer was more relaxed. And it was a natural transfer for me which I really liked. I didn’t take proceive, just supermarket folic acid and high strength vitamin D. But my husband took proceive as we had male factor and they really helped him so I think they’re a good brand.

@Danielle oic the consultant say this time success rate is 50% so hopefully work this time. But I try to bed rest this time. Let’s keep in touch in here. Nice to chat with you share your experience ❤️❤️❤️
