Cosatto extra testing?

I know cosatto is generally not a recommended car seat I’ve just seen on their website their new seats are tested ‘in line with adac levels’ RF to 105cm and harness is tested to 20 kg (rather than 18) Just wondering does this bring them in line with a joie seat? I know they do extra tests but not sure what. I know there are safer Swedish plus tested seats but unfortunately we’re limited on space our main seat is an aviounaut sky and it’s for a below 50th centile child so should reach until at least 4 in this when they can go into our eldests sky until HBB is appropriate. Thanks if you read all of this!

@Jess i would still never buy from cosatto, they say they’re tested in line with ADAC but i cant find the actual car seats results anywhere at all for this car seat. It may be tested in line with ADAC but the result could have been ‘poor’ as they haven’t published it. If you’re struggling on space, this also isn’t the most compact seat xx

As a person who works in crash testing, I would never buy Cosatto. There’s constant safety reviews on them and their own testing is extremely questionable.

Could you not do a sky Q for eldest and then put baby in the sky 2?

@Sarah that is dreadful🤯

If you’re looking for a 18-20kg seat that is well tested then I’d consider the Britax Swivel or Swingfix M Plus. https://www.carseatsplus.co.uk/products/britax-romer-swivel Both around £200. Similarly you could get an Axkid Move or Minikid 2 for the eldest and put the youngest in the Sky. They are more compact than the Britax Safe-Way M.

I wouldn’t buy a Cosatto seat due to lack of testing. If your budget is around £200, look at Britax Swingfix M plus, it will be more compact than the Cosatto and better tested

Thanks for the info, wondered if after their collaboration with Axkid they were improving their own seats too sadly seems they’re not!

@Jess I think their collab tbh is just their colourful prints on axkid seats xx

I think for the price of the cosatto seats you can definitely get a much better and safer car seat you know is plus tested! X

@Charlotte unfortunately can’t find any plus tested seats at this price which would be suitable, will need to keep searching!

Axkid move x

Thank you, we have tried this one it unfortunately doesn’t fit we don’t need one immediately baby is only 3 months just hoping to move out of an infant carrier in our second car about 6 months so trying to see what options we have. It’s a polo so pretty small and my partner is 6ft so needs room to drive!
