I’m open to advice as long as the person offering is polite about it and not trying to cram it down my throat!

I’m not usually sure what to say when they give advice because usually I’ve already tried what they are suggesting

Some people don't know how to listen without giving advice or genuinely want to help, I listen but only follow the advice that feels good/right.

If you are telling someone about a situation it is normal for them to give advice, unless you specifically tell them that you just need to vent and don’t want advice. I would only be bothered by advice if I didn’t mention a situation to someone and they try to give me advice about it without me bringing the topic in the conversation.
