@Rebecca isn’t it painful? The insertion process specially ? And yes you’re right About the pill, we can forget that anytime any day
Following this. I’m terrified of getting the coil🥺 but don’t want to mood swings of the pill again. We are just using condoms too but it’s a little bit of a buzz kill when in the moment xx
If you've had a smear test, I'd say that's about as "painful" as it gets. It's more uncomfortable. I've had 3 fitted and my tips would be to take pain relief an hour before your fitting just incase! Honestly anyone, please ask questions as I'm happy to answer🥰 xx
I have a mirena coil and apart from not being regular periods just lots of random spotting (but I did only spot breastfeeding 3 months) I haven't noticed any other side effects. I also didn't find insertion painful, just a little uncomfortable then a day of cramps and then I was fine. I had a smear same day actually. I was on the mini pill before and I did prefer the regular periods I had with it and no other side effects but I did notice I was crap at taking it everyday which I wasn't pre kid, hence my June twins were born.
@Kerry same And then ending up having morning after pill and now my periods are late. 😣
@Rebecca I have a question Does this disturb regular periods?
I haven't experienced any irregularities with my periods when on the coil, the first one goes a bit out of whack but then I find it falls back into a rhythm no problem. I would say though, if you have irregular periods prior, it may not be fixed by the copper coil! Not sure on the mirena coil though 😊
Look into natural cycles, it might work for you 😊
@Rebecca my periods are always regular until today as I took Ella one ! I don’t know whether it’s pregnancy or delay in periods due to pill As delay in periods is side effect of this pill I have taken test it’s negative for now
If you've just recently started taking the pill again, it could be that causing the delay just due to your body adjusting x
@Rebecca I have never taken morning after pill Just recently took last month and got periods after that And took this month again after incident happened so took morning after pill but this time it’s delaying periods I have never taken that pills which we have to take full month the contraceptive ones
I got the copper coil back in. It's non-hormonal and I found that as much as I get the slightly heavier periods, I don't feel like my mental health suffers where as I really struggled with the pill (various ones), implant etc x
