😭

I’m so upset. I’ve literally gotten 5 positive pregnancy tests, just for two days later to start gushing blood. My period came 2 days early, which I’m assuming pushed up my ovulation to the 17th of October instead of the 19th (what my app had.) Ironically based off symptoms I could have sworn I ovulated the 18th. Which still breaks my heart cause we baby danced the whole time anyways. My question is, clearly my cycle isn’t as regular as I thought. 27 days this month, last month was 32. Can someone explain the ins and outs of these ovulation test strips? I want to order them, and reading I see it says afternoon to early evening is best time to take. Does someone have a routine down they’d like to share? I am an avid pregnancy test taker and don’t want this to consume my life. I’m also fearful I’m going to get a positive on these ovulation tests and have a freak out if I don’t have sex because work/life gets in the way. Anyone have any fool proof methods? When do I start them? When do I take them? How many do I take? Etc. if I don’t go in with a plan I know a 40 box will last me 2 days.

If you got positives I would contact your dr

I usually only do once a day in the morning until it starts to get a little darker. Then I switch to twice a day until after my peak. Is 27 days the shortest your cycle has ever been? There's a chart in the instruction manual for your LH tests on when to start testing based on your cycle length. Is use the shortest cycle length you can remember. I generally start testing about 3 days before the earliest I think I could ovulate. So if CD 14 is as early as I ever ovulate, then if start testing on day 11ish.

@Kitty apparently the tests I got are crap and known for instant evap lines. Never again.

Which brand was it?

@Kitty I believe I even posted a picture of one of the positives in here, you may of even commented on it if I remember correctly. Not even kidding like 7 tests were positive clear lines right off the bat. CVS brand and Walmart. Both blue dye. Both need to be taken off the market. Out of curiosity I looked up reviews after I started bleeding and 100s of women with the same thing.

Oh yes I did! I've had false positive on the target brand blue dye before

@Kitty I will say though I’m not sure a chemical can be ruled out. This period came on very fast, very hard, and very early. This is the earliest I’ve ever been.

@Taylor if you get a super dark line at like 10pm… what do you do? That’s my fear. If my spouse is asleep and I can’t pounce him. Or do you not need to test that late? Can you miss your peak overnight? I’m sorry for all the questions I am just very uneducated on ovulation testing. They didn’t have this 14 years ago when I had my children

I wouldn't rule it out tbh :/ it's it's heavy I would DEF get in contact with your dr and explain everything they can pull blood to verify if it was or not

@Kitty I don’t want to confirm something in my heart I already know if that makes sense. I’m heartbroken. I have to be bleeding out or missing half a limb to go to the doctors as it is lol

Completely understandable if you ever need friend to talk to I'm here for you 🫶🏽 I've been through one as well

@Kitty I really appreciate that. It just sucks. I thought for sure it stuck this time. Thats okay, I’ll just keep trying. Atleast the trying part is fun 😃

I’m so sorry. It does sound like you may have had a chemical pregnancy. As for ovulation testing, you should take an LH test twice a day—once in the late morning, and once in the early evening, and ideally, around the same time every day that you take them. I think most people will say you should start taking them on CD 9 or 10; if you’re struggling to get a handle on your cycle, I would start as soon as your period is over. Also, I recommend reinforcing the LH tests with tracking your BBT throughout your cycle. The shifts will be subtle, but there reliably are dips and spikes around ovulation and a few days before your period is supposed to begin. The difference when you’re pregnant is that the spike that happens before your period starts a new trend of a higher BBT.

You might know when you ovulate but trusting an app is not the way to go, please use ovulation test strips too. I use inito

You ovulate 12-36 hours after your peak LH. So I don't necessarily recommend testing that late at night, but if you did get a peak that late, you still have time to have sex the next day.

Thank you all, I think I’m actually going to call my doctor. I’m not in any pain, but I am bleeding pretty bad for it being my first day. I got myself together to get out of the house, went to the bathroom and put a super tampon in just cause that’s what I had available. I went to Walmart 10 minutes away and I completely bled down my legs through the super tampon. Like I said I’m not having any pain or cramping so i didn’t want to over react but I never bleed this heavy on day 1. 😭 I hate this so much

Ok so, i was also very lost when i started ttc and went into a rabbit role of research 😂, I use the premom app and the easy@home test strips. I start testing on my cd7 and test until i get my period, once a day and when it’s close to my peak day i test twice, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. You peak and then your ovulation happens 24-36 hours after that so you don’t need to wake your sleeping husband😂, i would recommend having sex every other day during your fertile window and then having sex peak day and ovulation day. Some say that having “old sperm/mature sperm” its best because it takes 12h ish for the sperm to “find” the egg so having sex before ovulation day might be best. I would just advice you to have as much sex as possible during the peak and ovulation day 😂.
