Thank you for sharing! That’s really helpful. I didn’t even know there was a free IVF point (I’m 28 so not an issue yet, but good to know!). Pleased you got your babies in the end 💗
Hi there - just had my egg collection this morning at TFP Oxford, I am early 30’s and I really recommend them personally. We are IVF funded and have had no issues at all with anything, from the minute funding was agreed to being in my baseline scan before starting treatment was 10 days and we could then have started injections the cycle after but we waited a bit. Overall really lovely staff and so far a positive experience. Always free to message if you have any questions. Xx
Ahh best of luck for the next few days @Katrina. If the embryos go in the embryoscope they can give you a video of them developing into blastocysts on a usb stick which is so nice to see! You just need to ask them for it if they don't mention it x
Thank you @Lydia x have been really positive and chilled during injections and todays EC but now the waiting game Is here I feel more anxious, I guess it’s because there’s literally nothing we can do now but wait just got to hope for the best ✨ xx
Ps- I definitely will! That’s amazing 🥹
@Katrina if you don’t mind me asking, how did you get it funded? Was that by going through NHS process? Sorry if that’s a stupid question, it’s all new to me at the moment
Hi there! Yes NHS funded this round. We got referred from GP to local hospital, then we completed the tests eg hormone levels etc, then they put the referral in to our chosen clinic. Feel free to message me, more than happy to support you with any questions ✨
@Katrina thanks. I’ve booked into tfp for initial tests next week, then will see what they say and go from there. I’m guess if they find something I can take it to the gp and discuss etc
TFP will be able to tell you the next steps. Great you’re having the initial tests done there anyway and they’ll be able to advise you. Wishing you the best 🥰
@Katrina thank you! Fingers crossed for you and your journey, best of luck x
A lot of the assessments can be done through your GP such as bloods and semen but I waited 8 months after those results to see a fertility consultant only to be told I'd just passed the free IVF point (34 years in Oxford) so went to tfp and had to redo and pay for all the tests again anyway which took weeks. This was during 2020 so I think we were not a priority but it added a whole year to our journey. I now have 5 mo twins through three cycles at tfp.
