It really depends on the car. Cars from auctions can come from many different places and you want to make sure you know where the car is coming from before you buy it. Also you really need to be familiar with cars or have someone with you who is. Auctions are very fast passed and made to make money so you also need to have a good idea of what the pricing for that car would be to make it worth it. Some auctions sell cars that have been salvaged or are junk cars that look amazing but they will need a whole new transmission. Salvaged cars can be really hard to get insured. I have a friend who is always buying cars from auctions but he is a mechanic and he knows what a good deal is and how to fix them. He then resales them. I personally would not want a car that needs fixing so I would look more for unsold dealer cars, cars that have low mileage and were used as taxi's/shuttles, or cars that were impounded/towed but never claimed. I hope that helps 😊

Last time I went to a public car auction the cars got bid up more than they were worth. Didn’t buy anything never went back since.

Yes. Make sure you go with someone that has some knowledge on cars. My ex owns multiple dealerships and they buy a lot of vehicles from auctions!

Some - not all - cars at auctions are sold by scrap places where the car has been written off purely because it costs so much to fix. Just make sure you know what category they are, you don't want one with structural damage. Like the other ladies say, get a mechanic who really knows their cars and have bought from auctions before
