@Clare did it ever smell? My belly kinda hangs a little and it smells horrible 😭
Yes when I had an infection 😭 but sometimes it did even after until it healed completely, it’s soo hard to heal with an overhang. I had to use gauze under my overhang when I couldn’t lay to dry it out, then made sure after shower etc to lay on bed for about half n hour to air it
I just cleaned my with water and the soap that kinda drips down on to it! I never dryed it with a towel always blow dryed it! It prevents infections!
if it's smelly, do you notice any redness around the incision or anything that looks like a rash? it could be yeast rash, I had it for a while.
I was told to avoid using soap in that area but not sure if there’s different advice
i got told no soap for the 6 weeks… i started using it as soon as it was healed tho, the smells😩 i used mild soap x
My doctor told me to just let the soap fall onto it while you’re showering and to not directly scrub it. Just let it drip while you put soap on your body. He also told me to pat it dry
i got told no soap at all! i would just use water to gently pat the area to wet it, then when i was out i would pat it dry with a towel. always make sure it is dry before you get dressed!
all the ladies who are being told no soap- did yall have stitches or staples? I had stitches and was told to wash with soap once a day after my 2 week appt! crazy how things can be so different.
I had dissolvable stitches and they said washing it with soap directly can break down the stitches when they need to dissolve themselves just to let water run over it. Definitely crazy how advice can be so different
@Sarah i had stitches.
I also had dissolvable stitches and was told to wash it directly with soap! that's wild lol.
for the record I definitely did not scrub
I never directly washed the incision as mine opened I tried to let it scab as much as I could and just let the water and unscented soap wash over it but never touched it to wash.
