IVF Chances of Success with Endometriosis

Hi all, I am wondering if any of you have gone through and had success with IVF. Going through my first cycle at the moment and I am a bit worried that I will have implantation failure. Have already gone through three failed IUI cycles and been TTC for 2 years without so much as a faint line. Wondering if anything can be done to try to ensure success. I was diagnosed with mild endometriosis via laparoscopy but haven’t had it removed. Any tips also what I could do diet wise would be much appreciated

Hey lovely. Stage 4 endo. Almost 10 years of TTC, pregnant on our first round and we now have a 13 month old 🥰 Stay positive, relax and I wish you the best of luck 🍀💞

Hi Kate, I can relate though unfortunately unable to offer any positive pregnancy stories yet. I am on my second round of IVF. About to head into third transfer. Suspected advanced endo. Also wondering what can be done to ensure success. I am on a down regulation protocol before my transfer which is meant to help with reducing inflammation. Also following an anti-inflammatory diet with lots of omega 3s (fish) etc and healthy fats/protein including eggs/avocado. This is more controversial as some do not believe this plays a role in pregnancy but I am considering testing for immunological factors (NK cells testing, for example). There is the also ERA or Emma/Alice tests (biopsy to gain a better picture of healthy/unhealthy bacteria in the uterus) that I'm considering having done. There is a lot to consider and it's hard to know which tests are right for you... Have you talked to your clinic or a fertility doctor about what would be good to try?

Some of these tests might not be needed yet but possibly helpful to consider down the line. You have every chance of getting pregnant with your first cycle and not needing these tests. 🤞

I went to one of our Endo experts here in Canada and he said he really doesn't remove mild Endo anymore--it just doesn't seem to help unless there is a lot of distortion / loss of flow. I went ahead and got pregnant my first IVF cycle! My clinic doesn't even do anything different for endo. I never had a faint line either and was feeling like it was impossible.

Ladies thanks so much for the words of advice and encouragement. @Tea and @Jenny congratulations and amazing to hear that you both fell pregnant on your first cycle! @Jodi wishing you all of the baby dust for your second cycle. Thanks for all of the tips! I will speak again with my doctor but it doesn’t really seem like they think my mild endometriosis will be a massive factor. I don’t know if it is paranoia, over-thinking or intuition but I just really wonder if the lack of success is down to failure of implantation- but I guess we will know more after this first round.

I had 2ndary infertility. Did not get a single positive pregnancy for FOUR years. Did every single thing you could think of, including medicated IUIs and lap with diagnosed and removed endo from my ovaries and near tubes. After that I did clomid, letrozole, more medicated IuIs - STILL nothing! First IVF cycle, 15 eggs only 1 good embryo. He is almost 2yo! Second IVF cycle, 15 eggs only 1 excellent euploid embryo. She’s 7 weeks old! It can totally happen! It depends where your endo is for sure. Implantation failure is less likely to happen if your uterus is all clear and you have a good/excellent embryo (and added bonus if you did PGT and it’s an euploid!). GL xx
