Birth Control Post Baby

I went off birth control 4 years ago and was using the cycle tracking paired with the withdrawal method and was successful with preventing pregnancy. For this baby, we had discussed we would stop tracking and were 50/50 on the withdrawal (not actively trying but not actively preventing). Now that I am only 6 weeks pp, I am paranoid to get pregnant again and would like to wait another 1-2 years before trying for baby number 2. Looking for some feedback on the copper IUD or anyone that successfully went back to the tracking/withdrawal method post baby?

I haven’t done either. I’m on the mini pill until I can figure out what I want to do next. I thought about the injection but it seems like a lot of women gain weight using that method. I hope you get feedback on the methods you asked about! I just wanted to respond anyway :)

I use Phexxi, that goes into the vagina before sex. It’s non hormonal, and I’ve had the best results, not get pregnant. I was taking the pill before but I hated the side effects!

I can definitely recommend the copper IUD! No hormones, continue with a regular period with no problems and reassurance that it’s 99.8% effective

I’m exactly the same and went for the copper IUD, haven’t had a period yet as I’m BF but apparently it’s meant to make them heavier. Another thing to consider is that up until 6 month pp you’re a high risk of complications such as perforation I had mine at 3 months pp and luckily been fine so far.

@Shazia is your insurance covering it?

@Brooke yes! I have Aetna. They cover it, I don’t have to pay anything
