Mat pay paperwork

Does anyone know what week of pregnancy your paperwork has to be in for maternity pay? Or does it vary from trust to trust? Thanks In advance

Should be able to fine that in your maternity or family leave policy. Might vary by trust

That’s a good suggestion thanks il look in the policy.

Should say in your policy but most places request it 15 weeks before your due date.

Our policy is very vague. We have had staff that have found out very late but usually they expect it in by the time you get your matB1 from the midwife. I think I got mine at my 16 week appointment and my manager did the form that same day when I gave her the matB1 because a copy had to go with it

See I remember with my daughter it having to be in quite soon but I can’t get my matb1 form until 24 weeks as thats what my midwifes have said. Hopefully that’s not too late. Can’t really do anything else x

@Beth they can issue it after 20 weeks. My midwife said she wouldn’t issue my matb1 till my 28 week appt. I phoned her and said I wanted it now to complete paperwork at work - I wasn’t taking no for an answer. She issued it me that week. I phoned the GP and left a message with them until it was confirmed it was at reception waiting for me to collect 😆

@Steph ooo thanks for the heads up. Il see if I can get it sooner as my policy says paperwork has to be in 15 weeks before I’m due so 24 weeks cuts it a bit fine haha

@Beth that’s what my work policy said which it why I demanded it sooner. But yeah, they can issue it anytime after 20weeks - no idea why to was so long to do it when they know employers ask for it sooner!

@Steph thanks lovely il give the midwifes a call on Monday! X
