BP readings

So I was told to keep track of my BP since last appointment, I have a appointment tomorrow. What do you think of these numbers? I’m so nervous it’s gonna develop into preeclampsia😭 30w 1d

My numbers are very similar to yours. Currently 29w 3d. They gave me a diagnosis of gestational hypertension. I am having weekly appointments and weekly nst. They are not letting me go past 37 weeks and they have discussed inducing me as early as 34 weeks if my numbers don’t get any better

So far I haven’t had any protein in my urine so it hasn’t progressed into preeclampsia yet but they are keeping a close eye on it. Unfortunately there is nothing you can really do to prevent it turning into preeclampsia

@Grayson I feel like my doctors aren’t taking it seriously. They prescribed me baby aspirin when I went into hospital with high BP. But just sent me home, said monitor it and I have been. Hoping I will have more answers tomorrow. I’ve been having almost daily headaches, which I’m prone to migraines prior to pregnancy… Hoping when I show them these numbers they can tell me more🙃

They seem pretty high. I had pre-e with my first and high blood pressure with my second so I’m monitoring at home too. I’ve been told with all my pregnancies that 120/80 is gestational high blood pressure and 140/90 is pre-eclampsia. This pregnancy I’ve been loosely following the Brewer’s diet to help prevent/cure high blood pressure and so far it’s been helping a lot! Fullynourishedmothers has tons of info on her instagram page. If you develop pre-e there is a protocol that you can follow to help lower it too.

Not really sure what this means but this has been my results with protein; urine? @Grayson @Grace

@Grace I’ve not heard of brewers diet, I definitely will have to check it out.

My previous ob was not taking it seriously at all and I finally got a second opinion. If you are able I would try to advocate for yourself with your current ob or switch to a new provider. Unfortunately some doctors will not take your concerns seriously and it is very very frustrating

That’s interesting that your protein went down! I’m assuming that’s good though! I hadn’t heard of it either until this current pregnancy and so far it’s been really helpful. It’s not very restrictive either, thank goodness, I get so hungry 😅

@Grayson with my first my ob didn’t care at all, I ended up being induced by hospital and was asked why I hadn’t already been induced?! So this pregnancy I have switched doctors, soo frustrating

The 140s make me nervous. I had pre eclampsia with my first with similar blood pressure readings but they didn’t do anything other than baby aspirin until 38 weeks when my blood pressure was 150/100. And at that point I was induced. My readings with this pregnancy have been similar to your 130 readings, been on baby aspirin since 12 weeks. They also have me watch sodium intake and on DASH diet. I don’t think there’s much else they can do except extra fetal monitoring and weekly checkups

My doctor asked me to track my blood pressure between appointments too and to let him know (before my next appointment) if I had any readings 140/90 or higher so that we can redo bloods and urine samples for pre-eclampsia (both okay last time). It looks like you have had a few readings over 140/90 so hopefully your doctor can give you more guidance!

Those are high. I have watch mine bc of my last pregnancy. If mine get over 140 then I will be induced early but so far this pregnancy has been treating me well

@Grace 120/80 is textbook perfect blood pressure.

@Nadine I’m just following doctors orders 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe it’s different if you have a history of pre-e. Hoping OP was able to get some answers/guidance from her doctor today.

I had those numbers during my first pregnancy and protein in my urine since week 20… I was told to take it easy and since I wasn’t working I could stay on bed for most of the day and I got checked every week since week 27 or 28. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. By the week 34 my blood pressure started to calm down and the protein in my urine started to disappear! Nobody could believe it but they kept monitoring me every week and I could make it until due date 40w 1d when my baby girl was born. It was a very long labor because they wanted to make sure my blood pressure was ok and baby was ok. I delivered vaginally with no complications 🩷 don’t stress over it yet, but try to take it easy and stay in bed as much as you can 🩷🩷
