Hi I’m near risca message me and we can meet up x
I'm east-Cardiff too, so not far from you. What are the odds of having 2 local people reply straight away? I'm a first time mum due 17th Feb. We should definitely hang out as I worry about this too! X
I was very lonely in my first mat leave. My tips are: sign up for every free class you can (look at children's centres and churches), go along to your local sling library for the social, ask in your town fb group for local mum groups (my town has a weekly sling walk), try arrange play dates for your older kid, sit alone in cafes (a coffee in public feels less lonely than being at home), find free things to do with your older kid like museums, message everyone you match with on here and be the first to propose a meet up! Good luck x
This is why I did NCT classes first time round and this time round.. made maternity leave less lonely and I have a community of mums that really helped
@Laura thank you 💕 I'm still in contact with the Mums I met and know from my first time around. But none are in the same position as me this time. I guess I'm over thinking and will most definitely book some classes in as soon as baby arrives 😊
@Jenny thank you 💕 I'm honestly party dreading the lonely days 😭 be nice work get to know you xx
@Lucy what are NCT classes? X
Over the last week I've decided what date I'm going on maternity leave and I'm feeling the same now that it's been decided! I don't have many friends anyway but so scared of being completely alone (apart from my husband and family) on maternity. I'm in Swansea so not overly far and also due in Feb if you ever need someone to feel lonely with together 😅
@Liz 🤣🤣 it's daunting! We can be lonely buddies of course 🤣 pop me a message xx
You’ve got plenty of time to meet new local mums. My first is 3 and I’m still in contact with 3 mums all of which I met after he was born, 1 on the ward and 2 at a baby class at 5 weeks. It was nice then to arrange stuff to get out to on different days
