You would just tell them you’re pregnant. Don’t think there is any specific trick to it. And then when you know you tell them when you are going to be off from and until.
Tell them you’re pregnant and they’ll tell you the policies surrounding pregnancy and they’ll tell you the time frames they expect you to inform them of when you want to take mat leave etc x
I told my line manager who told HR for me, if you have a line manager it might be in their role to do that
Subject: Notification of Pregnancy and Discussion of Maternity Leave Dear [HR Manager’s Name/HR Department], I am writing to formally inform you of my pregnancy. I am currently expecting to go on maternity leave around [mention your estimated due date, if known], and I wanted to notify you in advance so we can start planning any necessary arrangements for my absence. I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and am happy to discuss the best ways to support my team and complete my responsibilities leading up to my leave. I would also appreciate any information on maternity leave policies, benefits, and any forms or documentation you might need from me. Please let me know if there is a convenient time for us to discuss this further or if you need any additional information from my side. Thank you for your support and understanding. Best regards, [Your Full Name] [Your Position] [Your Contact Information]
