I’m about to sound really dumb for a minute bare with me…

If you have an IUD do you still have to use the pull-out method as well to completely prevent pregnancy? I’m currently on the pill and use the pull out method as an added layer of protection is the IUD the same? Or am I just being extra?

No birth control is 100% effective. When I was on nexplanon (implant in arm) I didn’t use the pullout method. We raw dogged it and I never got pregnant but I defiently chanced it. Ultimately it’s up to you, but IUD if I’m not mistaken is the most effective birth control on the market.

I would not trust the pill like I’d trust the implants personally! It takes one missed pill and you’re fucked. Again my 2 cents, spend them how you’d like

I had the IUD (Mirena) for many years, it never fails me. I’m currently off of it as I’m pregnant with baby #2 due in December. IUD has been my only birth control I’ve ever used.

The IUD is 99% effective, pills are around 97%. It’s really not necessary to pull out but by all means do so if it helps you to feel less anxious about getting pregnant.

IUD is the most effective so you don’t have to pull out. You also don’t really have to pull out on the pill either. However, as someone that at one point absolutely did not want to get pregnant I used two forms of birth control (pill and condoms) so I totally understand you taking an extra precaution to not get pregnant as no form of birth control is 100% effective.

I’ve been on the iud for about 2 years now and we’ve never used the pull out method while on it even when I first got it. I think you’re just being extra lol.

Pull out method isn’t reliable at all, if you take your pill correctly then it’s up to you if you want additional protection, however pulling out is low level protection anyway
