I got diagnosed with it a few days ago. I’m also scared and fed up but it’s only for the next 15 weeks xxx
Gestational diabetes UK group on Facebook is very good x
I don't care if I have to eat lettuce for the rest of the pregnancy I just don't want it to affect the baby and just got it in my head by body isn't cut out for pregnancy. I've cried so much and don't know if that's a normal response or not. Have joined the gestational diabetes group though @Alina and it is very good!
Trust me, it's not your fault! It can't be controlled. It is something to do with the placenta, not 100% what exactly, but look at me. I'm on my second pregnancy, and I've had two tests so far, and I've passed both times. And last time, i was only diagnosed at 32 weeks. I didn't have any risk factors or anything, and it only came to light by accident, and my baby was absolutely healthy! Try not to worry! You will be fine! It is more common than you think. I also cried and blamed myself when I found out, and with some researching etc. I found out it's not my fault at all!
Yes! Had it last pregnancy and currently have it too, it just means you need monitoring so baby doesn’t grow too big and this is done by a change in diet if you struggle with that then medication helps! Don’t worry about it! As long as it’s picked up and managed baby will be absolutely fine! X
