We tried a pourty, and they are good from the adult point of view as they are easy to empty. But my boys both rejected it and wanted to be on the toilet, so we got a seat and a step.

We have the Summer toilet potty and it's brill! His little buttcheeks are used to being pampered with the soft seat though so he's always refused to sit on the poundland type ones and the carry potty. He's 99.6th centile and still hasn't outgrown it 🥳

He literally decided today that he'd undress himself and take his nappies off so we're going for it!
We have the nuby potty which looks like a little toilet that my lg likes and then a mycarrypotty for travel She finds the mycarrypotty a bit more awkward to sit on because it’s quite low to the ground but it’s great when we’re out and about
He pooped on me 😂 we were sat right next to the potty!

We use the steps up to the toilet. LO loves copying us
When you say big standard one what do you mean? 😃 we use one of the ‘my carry potty’ which are very helpful. I have a tall girl and she’s fine on there. We did try a few. She chose this one herself and took to it better than the rest.
