2 years 10 months old, three accidents the first day, two the second and none after that, and I barely had to do a thing. My biggest advice to anyone would be to just wait!
First child (2.5) was fully potty trained day and night with no accidents wearing underwear at all times in 1 month. Second child started younger (2) and it took 6 months. 3rd child still working on it. Shes the most frustrating so far and I WRONGLY thought she would be the easiest because everyone said “oh she’ll watch her sisters and train really quick”. 🤡
Days to get the hang of it, but a couple of weeks to be mostly accident free. I was so happy we waited until he was almost three - I think it made a huge difference as he was so ready. Nighttime is hormonal though so don't stress about that. You just have to wait until they're ready. For us it was a few months after daytime dryness but for some it can take years and that's ok!
Started at 2.5, took 2 weeks :)
2 and 10 months and took less than 3 days to be dry. She’s stays dry at night but that’s because we wake her at 10pm to wee. Oh Crap! Potty Training by Jamie Glowacki really helped us.
Started at 2y3m, that’s what age he was when summer hit, day trained about 3-4 days and nights a week later all up about 2w.
I read that it takes an average of 6 months to potty train a child 😂 yes it only took us 3 days for her to figure out the whole concept but I’d say it def took 6 months to stop worrying about accidents. Bc the accidents and regressions will def happen multiple times! And we still haven’t done overnights.
We started potty training at 27 months, it took about 3 days for us to get into a rhythm and feel comfortable to go out. We would prompt him to pee whilst out and about though. But I don’t think he ever had an accident whilst out and about. Maybe one or two really early on? He does every so often have an accident at home, if he’s drank a lot and then right in the middle of something fun, he sometimes doesn’t leave himself enough time and the pee comes out as he’s stood in the bathroom trying to get his trousers down 😂 He night trained at 28 months and did have a handful of accidents the first couple weeks but hasn’t had any since. So in terms of the question about when we felt comfortable going places without worrying about accidents, I would say days really as we just went for it and prompted and figured if he had an accident so be it, but I think we would have had more accidents had we not prompted. But we pee when out and about, so we would just take him too 🤷🏼♀️
@Lisa Yes I’ve heard that! And I just had my second, so obvs I postponed potty training until after we all adjusted to the new baby… At first it was GREAT. But on day 3 she tilted her hips so she could watch her “tinkle” 😭 It squirted all over, startled both of us, and caused me to shriek in shock haha. Ever since she WONT sit on the potty and I’ve cleaned 3-4 accidents a day 🙃
Started right about 2y6m (had attempted previously when he showed interest but never lasted more than a day) to about 2 months to start going short trips without diapers, 3-4 to do longer trips/drives. The week before he turned 3 we started going to bed without diapers. Our only accident since then was yesterday. We were out in the cold for a while and I think the numbness of the weather got to him
2 weeks before 3rd birthday. It took 5 days to be completely dry in the day - we waited until he showed signs of readiness and had a few days at home.
