My little girl is one on Sunday and we’re not getting her anything. We’re planning on taking her to her favourite places (a walk round our village, to the local pub (it’s decorated for Christmas and she loves the lights & tinsel!) and possibly her first soft play if she’s not too tired. At 1, their birthday is more for you. A celebration that you’ve kept your perfect little human alive and healthy and happy for twelve whole months. They don’t need presents that they won’t remember. In my personal opinion they need experiences that when they’re older you can tell them about. Maybe document her whole day in pictures and notes on your phone then use an app like FreePrints/Photobooks etc to get it printed into a book so she can look back on it in years to come.
Where are you based? Xx
@Jorden pmd you x
@Katy thankyou x
If you're struggling financially it can be a good idea to follow the local free pages on Facebook. I've joined several local to me and as people list things they're giving away you can request to be considered. Not sure if they all do it but a couple I follow also add a post called 'wanted Wednesday' where people can comment and request things they are in need of. Some also let you just post anytime to ask if anyone has items they no longer need. Alot of toys are expensive in shops but Facebook marketplace or vinted are great for second hand toys.
@Louise hello yes I am struggling financially and yes I have joined a couple of free pages on Facebook and unfortunately we don't have wanted Wednesday unfortunately but I have posted asking but to no avail x
If you’re happy to send me your address or local InPost locker I would love to send you some toys you can give to your baby from you 🩷🩷
