My son had that done, I was so scared and was ready to all kind of scenarios, but apparently it wasn’t painful, he was chill and chatty (he was 4 months old). Take a pacifier and it will be over in no time. I hope you get the good news after the procedure 🤍
@Becky oh bless him , it’s all so daunting isn’t it, sounds like you are going through the exact same route as me, our appointment with GOSH is in feb, they already called me thinking she has already had this done so had to reschedule, thank you so much for your comment, you’ve put me at ease it’s the not knowing what to expect working me up you’ve really helped xx
@Reem thank you so much for your comment, Just hoping for a easy fix for her 🩷 xx
Just had the appointment, they really struggled to get that Catheter in, they was about to give up and re arrange the appointment when it finally went in, poor baby screamed whole time But was so brave and will give her lots of cuddles :( xxx
My daughter had this done and she was none the wiser 😊, their where no lasting effects either xx
@Emily ahh they struggled to get my little ones in and have caused a little trauma to the area, but after lots of cuddles she seems to be herself x
My son has just had his done at 12 weeks, the whole process sounds more traumatising than it is, I really worked myself up for him, he laughed and babbled whilst they did it, they numbed his Willy before putting the catheter in, the only long part was waiting for his body to relax so it could go all the way up (not sure if the same for girls) I asked whilst he was doing it if he could see anything and he said it was definitely reflex unsure of the grades until he has looked at the images better, I rang and had the report the same day from my consultant now we are waiting on urology from either GOSH or John Radcliffe, my boy has been poked and proded his entire life, he was on life support at 3 weeks old from sepsis then another bout of sepsis at 9 weeks, never met such a happy baby to have been through so much trauma lol x
