I've never done Christmas eve boxes as I see it as a waste just for one night. Instead I do Christmas boxes that they can enjoy all through December, but they're sent by the elves the night before we decorate. So when the kids come downstairs (I have 2 x 7 year olds and an 8 month old) in the morning, the tree is lit up ready to decorate, with their Christmas boxes in front of the tree. I usually put in pyjamas, crafts or an activity book, a small toy or generally something christmassy, a cookie and a book. This year, we're going to Lapland UK so their invites will be in there, along with their small folk hats x
@Janelle I love that. Also when they're older I might put advent calender in too.
@Janelle love this idea. Will definitely do something similar next Christmas when older to help out with decorating the tree
It took a lot to allow them to decorate the tree as I'm a perfectionist 😂🙈 but when they were 5, I got them some hot chocolate, us some mulled wine with a Christmas film on the TV and sat back and watched them take so much joy in decorating, it's just perfect 🩷
So far for our Christmas Eve box we have a my first Christmas embroidered jumper, a Peter rabbit Christmas story book, a letter from Santa and baby’s first Christmas certificate and a bauble with her name. Also looking to get some festive baby snacks, I think it’s Ella’s kitchen (really can’t remember the brand though) that are doing rain deer melty sticks and bits like that. Also maybe a Christmassy rattle or little toy but still haven’t found one that I like :)
