maternity unit

Does the maternity unit know when you have a miscarriage do you have to contact to cancel all appointments or do they automatically know and gets cancelled. Any advice as i dont have it in me to contact to cancel all appointment’s.

I had to make my GP and midwife aware but not sure if it’s the same everywhere

I didn’t let anyone know and no one contacted me about a missed appointment x

Thanks 🙏🏽

They should in theory notify other departments on your behalf so you’re not bothered by them, however for example if you miscarried a day before your booking appointment the message may not make it through in time. Our EPU said that scans they could cancel themselves as it was essentially the same dept. but pre-warned me that there was a slim chance I’d get a missed appointment phone call from the booking appointment/midwife team. Thankfully they did get the message and I didn’t hear anything though ♥️ I will say that it is probably trust dependant, I’m so sorry xx

They told me it depends. If you're next appointment is quite soon they may not get the message in time but otherwise yes they deal with it

Thanks girls its all so hard honestly.. last 7 days a huge shock and blur .. i pray for everyones 🌈 👶🏾 🙏🏽♥️

With my first chemical, I’ve done the maternity referral as soon as I found out, so I’ve got my appointment letter, and few days later miscarried. I can’t actually remember which number I called, I think I went online and found a number on the referral page and called, and they said they’ll cancel my appointment for me. I forgot to call my GP, done it two months later when I’ve had the second chemical.
