Opinion and experience with zofran

I took zofran myself pregnancy for a few days until I read that it may be linked to birth defects. This is my 3rd pregnancy (9 weeks today) and I had to go to the er for extreme hg (morning sickeness). I’ve lost 7 lbs can’t keep water or food down and throw up all day and night. This time is more severe than my two previous pregnancies. They offered me Zofran again but I’m scared to take it bc of possible side effects. Has anyone on here taken it and their baby turned out fine?

I took zofran for my nausea spells from my chronic illnesses, that was pre-pregnancy, once I talked to my ob about having HG like symptoms and needing to go to the er for iv drip hydration he put me on a med called “bonjesta” it was a life saver. It’s designed for pregnant women who experience morning sickness that hasn’t been helped by diet & or life style change However my sister was on zofran for both her pregnancies and both her babies were born just fine (:

My Dr gave me zofran and it worked wonders. The only thing is, he wouldn’t give it to me until I was at least 12 weeks because of the low chance of birth defects

I also have extreme hg. I made a post about it on here recently. Honestly I’m too scared to take zofran for that same exact reason. I’m trying to take b6 and something else before I resort to zofran. Ill find it tomorrow and type it here.

I used to take zofran as well bc I lost 10 pounds really quick.. bc I was also nauseated with anything.. and yes I did felt better with the zofran but when my hubby did some research he got paranoid and stopped me from taking it and told me that I need to start taking “Nauzene” cuz it’s safer..and honestly that somewhat helped me temporarily with some cold water and sometimes I would drink sprite to help me🥺..

@Kianna I tried taking the b6 and unison and the unisom gave me horrible nightmares so I stopped it. Im in a predicament now 🥲 they gave me zofran on the iv earlier and it was just amazing afterwards 😭. Idk if I should keep taking it as needed or rhe days I can’t which is everyday.

@ally when I walked in there today I had lost a total of 7lbs and my blood pressure was high. Just feeling horrible 😞 I really don’t know what to do.

@Bella did you ask them is there a safer alternative besides zofran?:( you need to talk to your doctors what’s your comfortable or uncomfortable with..🥺

@Bella Awh darn :( the one they gave me wasn’t unison, but I’ll find it and give you the details and maybe it’ll help you 😩 I’d only take zofran if you’re throwing up every hour. That’s what I did. I took it it through an IV when I threw up every hour for 12 hours as an emergency of course. Praying for you mama 🫶🏼
