Baby boy showing signs of teething?

Hey mummies, My little boy is a few days shy of three months but is showing small signs of teething already. I’ve looked at his little gums and feel like I can see a sign of white pegs under, he’s drooling a lot and has been very irritable the last few nights. Is it too early though? And any recommendations on any teething gel for his age? Thank you! ♥️♥️

Mine is doing the exact same thing! He just turned 3 months. It’s not too early I read! He’s not necessarily getting the teeth coming out, but the teeth are growing in the guns right now. First stages of teething! I’ve just been giving him extra cuddles and let him num on my boob a little after he’s done eating (I breastfeed but I assume even numming on a bottle nipple would feel good too). Then I give him the binkie if he’s been crying and needing to go to bed to help sooth. I haven’t started the gel cause I think it’s too early for that. I want to wait until the teeth actually start popping through so he doesn’t get used to it or refuse it later. I heard you can also use those teething rings you put in the freezer and give him to suck on so he’s not sucking his hand too much. I haven’t bought one yet but his binkie and my boob seem to be doing good.

@Jade it’s definitely too early. I believe the earliest they can start teething is around 4 months but typically not till 6 months. However my baby girl was pretty fussy for the same reasons. So his teeth won’t actually start breaking through the gums for another couple months but sometimes they get teething pains from the teeth moving into place through their jaw. If you look at baby xrays, their teeth are all the way by their eyes and have to move all that way before they break through the gums so I’m sure it’s uncomfortable, painful regardless. What works for us is freezing her toys and letting her chew on ice through on of those netted pacifier food feeders

@Alicia Okay great!! That makes sense in terms of holding off on the gel for now. Thank you for the tips, Alicia 💛

Also we use a teething ointment called camilia. My girl doesn’t mind the flavor and it does seem to help with the fussiness and I believe you can start that pretty early but double check

@Sara omg by their eyes - crazy! That makes sense! Thanks for the tips, will try with him 💛

It’s not too early. They can teeth at any age but usually teeth don’t actually pop through till around 6 months. My HV told me my LG was teething at 10 weeks. She still don’t have the teeth through but yeah baby can be teething.

@Paige Thanks Paige 💛

@Jade my mate has 4 kids and she swears by the Ashton and parson sachets. As long as baby doesn’t have a lactose intolerance then she swears they are the best she’s used.

Definitely not too early! My first started teething at 9 weeks, and my triplets are 6 weeks (corrected age) and are all teething x

@Abi Oh wow! What did you use for them? Did you stick to teething toys or did you use gels too?
