Yeah definitely take ur time. We went out the day after he was born purely because I needed to get out in the fresh air. Only out for bout half hour then I was totally done in.
Yes potentially went too quickly to a busy supermarket but forgot it was Saturday - days are meaningless atm😅 We did a 30 min walk around the park on day 3 which was nice but this was a totally different experience!
Just take ur time. Little walks and build urself up xx
I took my little one to the supermarket at 4 days old and for walks also.It is what worked for me because being stuck in the house drives me insane. But you do what is best for you and that you feel comfortable with, be patient with yourself!!! 😌
I also had to take my newborn back to the car in the middle of a Tesco shop yesterday while my partner finished it with my toddler, very overwhelming😅
@Beth oh I’m glad it wasn’t just me!!!
I had to take her to the midwife on day 3 and day 5 and a little walk on day 5 then did a shop when she was a week. I think being forced out on day 3 helped. That first outing was definitely the worst. I was in absolute bits and I mean, I couldn't breathe I was crying so much trying to leave the house. I think busy places is completely different and also overwhelming for you at this stage regardless of baby. Your hormones are still going mental at the moment! I walk her in the pram on my own now but still walk with the hood completely up on the pram because I feel so protective over her I barely want anyone looking at her. I feel like I need to shield her and I feel like she's more protected like that. Probably ridiculous I know.
I was wondering this. I may leave it a week and head round the block for a short walk wrapped up. Xx
Keep going with it. Maybe try just going for short walks rather than out to the shops or go to the shops at quieter times. I try and get out for a walk everyday with her. She is 3 weeks now and the walk is more for me, 1 for mobility and 2 for mental health, being stuck in the same 4 walls isn't good.
Well done for taking the plunge, it isn’t easy! ❤️ We started with a short walk down our street when she was 3 days old, literally 20 mins out of the house, and built it up from there. We went shopping yesterday for the first time and I was freaked due to how busy it was so I totally get it!
