@Liana that’s exactly what I did with my first! It’s hard work, but well done to you for not giving up! With my second I have enough milk, which I never expected! So there’s hope ☺️
I combi feed and sounds fairly similar to you. My baby has 3 ff a day (around 1pm, 6pm and top up before bed at 10pm around 4-5oz each ff. I was until recently just doing 2 ff a day but her weight dipped another centile so added another. I bf on demand the rest of time Usually 6-8 times for 10-30mins also, but can be more snacky and often some days. We combi feed due to low milk supply (baby has high palate and lip ties so was unable to build a good supply early on). If the routine is working for you and she's gaining weight and happy then stay as you are. Is there any reason why you think you need to add any more formula?
Hi! This sounds similar to us my baby has her two formula feeds at roughly 10am and 6pm each day she can have days when she’s very snacky with her breastfeeding so the formula feeding times vary but are always around those times! There’s not really a reason why I think it needs to change she’s gaining weight and I do think my milk supply is just fine I just doubt myself a little as I formula fed my first daughter so found it easy to just follow along with the feeding guidance for her age as she grew where as with breast feeding I feel like I’m just guessing and haven’t got a clue when and if I’m supposed to change things! X
I'd say if you're in a rhythm that suits then no need to change anything. Your breastmilk will change composition as your baby grows so the volume they'll take roughly remains the same but the fat content or calorific content varies I believe in line with their requirements whereas formula is fixed calories hence why volume needs to increase overtime if that's only source of food. Hope that makes sense
We do combi feeding since birth - I offer boob first on almost each feed as I am not producing enough breast milk so I need to top up for each feed with 100-150ml formula and we do around 8 feeds in 24h :)
