Nuby rapid cool-mouldy lid

I feel like the worlds worst mother, I prepared a feed using the nuby rapid cool, upon cleaning babies bottle I noticed a speck of mould….i then went to wash the nuby cool flask and realised the seal of the lid had slight mould on it…..baby has drank the milk….but now I am soo soo worried and don’t know what to do. It only happened about 2 hours ago and baby seems fine so far. I feel so awful and so worried that baby will now be poorly! I’ve taken the seal off and fully washed it with boiling water and anti bac washing liquid and left to air dry. 😭😭😭😭

Are you sterilising the nuby? It should be sterilised. You can do with Milton fluid. I’m sure little one will be ok

I’m not sure you can sterilise the lid of the rapidcool? I do the bottle bit in cold water/milton and just give the lid a good clean (taking off the seal and washing under it). What are others doing to clean?

Ive only used formula in it once, and now doing hot shot method,…so I’m guessing it doesn’t need sterilising??

@Ems you can clean the lid in Milton too

It does still advise to clean periodically. I do the same and sterilise every couple of days

I sterilise the main part in the Milton cold water steriliser along with the rubber seal from the lid. Then I use the Milton spray in the lid that can’t go in the water and leave that to sterilise and then rinse with cooled boiled water

@Ems I wash it including removing the rubber and then I chuck it all in the steriliser! Been doing it for 2 months and no issues with my lid or anything. It just says not to leave for longer than the 15 mins it takes to sterilise

I think you do need to clean and sterilise the lid each time. I always microwave sterilise which you can’t use on the lid, so I bought the mini Nuby UV steriliser for dummies and I put the lid in that. I’m pretty sure though you can Milton sterilise the lid. It can go in water for short periods, I think - just not in microwave or dishwasher.
