Other ways to sterilise bottles?

Staying with family who have a cold water steriliser but have ran out if tablets and are unable to get some more. We have the tommee Tippee electric one at home so we aren't used to it

If we run out of tablets, most bottles are self sterilising in the microwave - put some water in (depends on brand) and put bottle in microwave for whatever time they recommend. Then just leave lid on etc and they stay sterilised! What we’ve else done in the past is boil the bottles in a pot on the hob x

@Amber Thank you for letting me know. They are the tommee Tippee closer to nature ones. I don't know if they are self sterilising or not x

I thought we could stop sterilising after 6 months?! I haven't sterilised anything since then 🤦‍♀️

@Rhiannon it’s recommended to sterilise until 12 months. Some stop earlier as they become more mobile due to them being on the floor anyway. It’s all personal preference. I still sterilise his dummies (17 month old) and stopped his bottles at about 15 months as he has a weaker immune system. Xx

@Parker I don’t think those bottles are self sterilising as we have those. For a very short period of time you can wash bottles then pour boiled kettle water on them. Not ideal but if you have no other choice! @Rhiannon you stop sterilising bottles after 1 years old or when they fully stop drinking formula x

@Courtney ah okay thankyou panic over 🤦‍♀️🤣

@Courtney Thanks but that's only for the natural start ones, that's what the link says x

@Parker my sons were exactly the same. They came in closer to nature boxes and looked same as the ones on the link, with the holes in the cap top. Failing that, I think your only option would be to put them in boiling water but not sure how effective that would be x

The closer to nature ones aren’t microwavable I’m afraid, I’ve looked and looked for ages about it since my girl was born x

I put all our bottles in a pot and boil them for 10 minutes!
