Midwife appointments

I’ve just realised that my 34 week appointment is actually scheduled for 35+1. I know at this stage we are seen every 2 weeks and now I’m concerned that I’ll either have to miss an appointment or will be a week ahead each time 😅 As surely they won’t be see me at 35 weeks and again at 36 weeks a week later? Maybe I’m thinking too much into it…

You'll have one around 36 weeks, it will just be whenever they can fit you in. As long as you are keeping an eye on movements and any new symptoms it shouldn't be an issue

Mine is booked for 35 + 4 im assuming she done it in the middle of 34 and 36 so i don’t have to go so often? And then i guess go again at 38 weeks but im unsure so i guess i’ll find out next week xx

Oh so you don't have all your appointments planned already? My midwife booked me all of them until my due date, can you ask to have them booked in advance instead of waiting each week?

My midwife is a bit fit in where we can also. As long as they are regular it's all good. First baby and from day one had appointment cancellations so I take it all with a pinch of salt, blood tests have been taken late and they 100% did diabetes test after they should have. As an over thinker and mega organiser I've used it as behavioural retraining so I'm relaxed and cest la vie for the birth 🤣 34 weeks is generally birthing plan so as long as that has been or gets done all good.

Mine just books my next one each time i go

It's not an exact science, just a guideline. If you get to over 40 weeks you'll see them plenty lol!

I’m 34 weeks, haven’t seen midwife since 28 weeks and have another week before I see her, my age and other factors make the pregnancy ‘high risk’ I thought I’d see her more, 4th time around if I was worried I’d be contacting someone. X

@Marie it’s quite normal when you attend a midwife appointment they then book the next one at the end. So you’re booking two-three weeks in advance essentially :)

@Gemma I think this is probably because it’s your second baby :) first time pregnancies have an extra 31W appointment between 28 & 34. If your high risk you won’t see the midwife more often necessarily but should be seeing a consultant/doctor often. Are you consultant led?

This is my first baby. My last midwife appt was at 32 weeks and my next one isn’t until 36. I’m 34 weeks currently so not too long until the next appointment. Having one at 34 weeks would have been nice but I guess they can’t fit me in
