I live in Ohio and pre K offered by the school district is limited. I just put my 4 year old in a pre k program at a daycare center to get her ready for kindergarten next year. I will probably start my younger daughter (will be 3 next year) at the same place once my older daughter starts kindergarten.
Definitely had to figure this out and apply on my own was hard but once you do it the first time, registering and school searching will get easier. Honestly, it’s a personal preference. Pre-k can be homeschooled or go to a school. Just look up pre-k schools in your area and see what options you have. Some offer different academics and specialties so it’s according to you. Mine started at pre-k (3/4yrs old), k(5), 1st(6) & 2nd(7) . . . . .
I’m planning on putting my boy in pre school at age 3 for half days and placing him on the wait list for the 4 year old class in the school district when he turns 3
I put my baby in prek2 since she was 21 months. It’s definitely good to start looking and researching now.
