But it doesn’t cool? Even if I didn’t do the hot shot say - the boiling water going into the rapid cool isn’t cooling, if that makes any sense 🙈😂xx
Is it not cooling it at all or are you just feeling heat from testing the milk on your wrist? We only do 30-40ml of water in hot shot otherwise our bottle would be too hot for him to drink. You need majority of water to be in nuby only leave enough to melt powder x
Testing on wrist🙈 okay, I’ll give it another go when he’s up for next feed, I’ll leave less oz in the bottle, Thank you xx
Are you also tipping the nuby upside down and gently rotating it up and down? And leaving it a minimum of 3 hours between using it again?x
I’m pretty sure that’ll be your issue then! let me know if it works for you haha xx
I held it upside down for about 10 seconds, okay so at least now it will have enough time to reset he shouldn’t be waking up for a good few hours now! So I suppose if it doesn’t work tomorrow with the advice from here then maybe it’s faulty 🙈😂 I’ll update tomorrow 😂😂xxx
I've got the tommee tippee over the nuby. Is there not a colour on the top of the insulator to tell you it's a safe temperature? If it's too hot, the shape at the top is red or amber. When it's safe, it goes blue. That's when I know to pour x
I do the hotshot method with only 1oz of boiling water and then rapid cool the rest and it comes out the right temp! This just saves washing up between use of we prep the whole feed in the nuby. I always found the insulator terrible, it doesn’t stay hot enough, I bought another thermos flask
So if I do 7oz of formula put 6oz in the rapid cool and use 1oz to do the hot shot, seems like not a lot of water to dissolve the milk? But I can try it @Zara xx
That’s right, it will be enough to dissolve don’t worry. My little boy is on 8-9oz and I only do 40ml hot shot for that much powder and it’s the perfect amount. You’ll be eyeballing it in no time lol x
The hot water in the flask only stays above 70 degrees for 4 hours with my flask. What i found is that if you put boiling water in it, keep it for 10 min then add fresh boiling water it stays above the 70 degree mark for 7 hours. But keep in mind this is if you fill the flask to the top. If you only have 100ml in there it cools faster.
So I tried again this morning, it cools down but the green light never changes to Amber? Wonder if I have a faulty one xx
Mine sometimes don’t always go amber if I press it and it’s green then tip it and shake it and what not for a good few seconds then wait for the green to go to press it again it’s green again so I wouldn’t worry both mine do it but she only has 4oz bottles so it cools it pretty fast
Mine never changes to amber either unless I put water in straight from kettle and press it right away but mine cools down in literally 5 seconds. I’ve had the same nuby for 5 months now and it’s still going strong x

I had a faulty one. But what I learnt with the putting the whole rapid cool upside down, it will then go amber as the sensor is in the lid.
With a rapid cool I just use kettle water and it cools to the right temp in less then a minute. Not sure why you would use the hot shot method with it. But I never use the hotshot method at all. I make the bottle up in the bottle put in rapid cool it cools then I put it back in the bottle.
