I just did dresses with no pants for my LG! She got the hang of wees pretty quickly, but I did have a carry potty for the first few months every time we went out. I would say poos have only just become reliable and we started in August. We used small treats e.g. chocolate buttons for poos but have managed to wean her off them and now we only give one to her if she remembers 🙈 my husband and I just followed her lead - it did help that we were both on summer holidays so we could watch her like a hawk for signs that she needed to go. She still wears a pull up at night time but I’m not worried about that until she’s a bit older (she’s 2yrs 8mths currently). I don’t think there is a specific way to do it, just trial and error and keep going, even if they say they don’t need a wee you will know when they do!

I used the “Oh crap! Potty training” book. Was fantastic and very informative. Did it over a long weekend (4 days) at home to get the basics down before she was back to nursery on the Monday and built on from there.

Day 1+2 bare bum in the house, sticker chart day one but he lost interest in that by day 2 Day 3 we all needed out and used training pants - big mistake he thought they were nappies, ditched those and straight to normal pants. Carry potty essential, lots of encouragement and extra treats. I was sick of my own voice. First poo after a few days- I had bought a multi pack of cars, so for the first 5/6 he got a new car. And made a huuuge fuss. Now we are around 5 weeks or so in he just tells me when he needs to go. I think he was just ready, put no pressure on it and if he didn't pick it up in the first week we were going to try again in the new year.

This is really helpful, thank you everyone! We have also been doing the new car every 7 wees haha!

I’m only on day one but I do a reward sticker system had a few accidents in the morning but everytime a accident happened I’d say oh next time you’ll get the potty and she’s eventually learning her own queues more even though I do say oh potty time as I’ve learnt her queues and she still needs a bit of prep

I used the ‘potty training box’ and it worked wonders for us. Completely trained in 4 days

What’s the potty training box??
