Milk

Hello, I’m looking for advice when and how much milk should our babies be having at 18 months old? I’ve looked online and can’t see what’s ‘normal’ when do the drop morning/bedtime bottle?

I've stopped giving my little boy his bedtime bottle as he started to throw up from it! So he doesn't have any milk now but he will have other sources of dairy throughout the day :)

I think it’s more what’s normal for your baby rather than what’s normal in general for all babies. It’s the age old saying “every baby is different” which I have now finally come to terms with and realised is 💯 true 18 months after giving birth. 😅 I think the key take away is be guided by them. If they are showing signs of not wanting or needing a bottle anymore then it’s probably time to drop that bottle. Perhaps try one morning or evening doing your routine without it, and if they get upset then they still need it. Our LB always had one after his nap in the afternoon for ages as he’d cry for it but just recently he stopped crying for it so we just didn’t give it one day and now it’s been dropped. We still do morning and night bottles though. My niece however, still has a bottle of milk when she wakes up from her afternoon nap and she’s 26 months so every baby really is different! 🥰🥰

Mines has one at nap time and bedtime cause she asks for one. I still use formula at night as I think it fills her more than cows milk

My little boy has 4oz afternoon and 6oz bed. Plus usually 2 sources of dairy in his diet. I'm very much led by him. I have friends with baby's a similar age that don't have any milk, just dairy based foods.
