Progression….

Top left is me before getting pregnant Top right is me 39 weeks pregnant And bottom two are today 6 weeks pp How do you think I’m looking? I had a c section so my stomach is still hard like it’s swollen, anyone else have this? My mum made a comment saying I still look about 3 months pregnant and when she had all 3 of her c sections her stomach went flat. I’m trying not to let it eat away at me and keep telling myself it’s only been 6 weeks.

Consult with your gp maybe you can start wearing belt post c section , it might be the muscles and while they healing it will be like this.

Sorry my English but first tell your mom to shove it. Comment on a body post delivery is just absolutely out of touch. Every healing takes a diffent path and timeline, but if you're bothered with the progress, ask your OB to teach you to massage your uterus area and give you a belly band (they provide muscular support and help to "accomodate" organs to previous space). Also, don't forget to love your body, it just finished long 39 weeks of growing a human 💖

I would speak to your GP. You could have diastasis recti. My tummy didn’t look like that 6 weeks after my sections, it was pretty much back to normal just a bit flabby and I had a pouch. How’s your diet/are you drinking lots of water? You could also look on YouTube and look at post c-section gentle workouts (this is what I did to help strengthen my core again) x

You are stunning in all 4 pics. You've just grown a human being inside you, cut yourself some slack 😍

I can see why you're concerned, but you have a great body, and I'm sure in time it will come back. It looks like you carried all out front, like I did, so I guess it might take a little longer for it to go back? My tummy looks similar at 2 weeks pp, but not sure how much more it will go back down without exercise etc, but obviously I can't do that just yet.

I had c section my belly was the samr for few more weeks then went flat . Dont worry xxxx

U look great for only being 6w pp. I had a c section 4w ago and I started wearing a belt right off the bat. I would ask ur dr if you can. I also have a lil pouch and wondering when I’ll go flat

How do you feed? I breastfeed and my stomach is almost gone now, baby is 9 weeks. But it only got flatter few weeks ago. Everyone is different and you still have time, if you bottle feed than it may take longer as breastfeeding speeds up healing.

I find commenting on other women’s bodies especially when it’s your own child after having a baby, so lame and shows an insecurity of one’s self.

The other girls could be right about diastasis recti, but if it feels hard then it could be bloating or inflammation. I have endometriosis and my stomach looks like this every time I have a period (it did before I had my baby too). If you’re not in any discomfort then I would give it a little more time (6 weeks pp isn’t long at all - your placental wound will have only just healed), but if it’s still like this & hard in a few more weeks - or you’re in any pain now - then I would see your GP. I would ignore your mum, sounds like she has a short memory! X

Thanks ladies. I’m bottle feeding and trying to be as active as I can and getting my diet back on track and trying to drink plenty. I’m not in any discomfort and when I lie down it goes flat. I have my 8 week check up with the doctor on 20th December to will speak to them about the belt if it’s not started to go down any more. Unfortunately my mum is very blunt and doesn’t think before she speaks, I’ve told her I’m not like her thank god!

My first child - bounced straight back to normal. Second child - similar to you and now at 14 weeks only just starting to shift it. I think it's just taken my muscles to start actually working! Every pregnancy is different. Your gorgeous!

I look like that nearly 2 years pp and didn’t have a c section. Finally got pelvic floor and physical therapy to help heal my muscles

Mine wasn’t like that, everyone is so different but I think for peace of mind get checked out x

Thanks for this post I just found out I definitely have diastasis recti

I personally didn’t have any swelling after my c-section, my belly was pretty much flat again a week later! But everyone is different, get it checked for peace of mind!!xx

Yep massive belly took months to get back in shape (tbis is my second pregnancy)

@💐Kate🌷 same experience with first child and second.

I’m envious as hell! I’m 4 months postpartum and honestly I never looked like that before, during or after😂😂! My stomach was huge with my little boy and now I’m left with a flappy pouch of skin that I hate, it’s taking some horrible shifting and ruins my confidence x

Please give yourself some grace, you're doing great. It took 9 months to grow your beautiful baby. Don't expect to go back to how you were immediately.
