I also gave a dose of Calpol before flying to help with any ear discomfort x
Make sure flight aligns with baby’s nap time or bed time. We took our daughter when she was around 6 months on a 11-12hrs flight to Asia, she slept for most of it as it would’ve been her bedtime. Have recently taken my 2 under 2 as well on the same flight to Asia, both of them slept through most of it. They did play their heart out before boarding, great to have all of their energy spent before flight started. My son was about 13 months then and daughter was about 30 months old. Make sure to have lots of their favourite snacks, drinks, toys - we brought some books, colouring books, finger puppets, some puzzles as they love them, and these kept them occupied well. None of them cried or had tantrums on those flights. We did flew nationally while we were there too, and all the same stuff really. Airplane sounds is great white noise. None of them had issues or display any discomfort.
We just did Gatwick to Florida which is 10 hours with a 6month old. I was dreading it for weeks but she was actually so bloody good! Make sure you take nappy cream, teething bits and calpol just incase! Also plenty of milk! And plenty of toys for them to play with, if you have a baby carrier I recommend it for walking around the plane or depending where you sit - bouncing them to settle etc. But don’t feel anxious they may suprise you our daughter did. If anything she settled better on the plane than home🤣. Oh and feed them for take off and landing so there eats don’t pop!! xx
