Sterile

Hey! How long is water sterile? If let's say I boil the kettle, put in a flask and let that cool down to room temp, would that be ok? Trying to find a easier way to make bottles whilst we're out and about. Thanks!

You have to make bottles with boiling water to kill any bacteria in the formula 🙃 I've got a nuby rapid cooler that I use when out and about

Could I put a little of boiling water first then room temp sterile water?? Basically copy what the tommee tippee bottle prep machine does?

Yes, you absolutely can, its called the hot shot method. Basically use a third boiling first, swirl and then top up with cooled boiled water. It'll be perfect drinking temp so no faffing about heating/cooling bottles. So easy! Just take 2 flasks out with you and you're away ☺️

Amazing thank you!

Yes! 🙂 basically what the nuby does but your way is probably quicker!!

Hey, so once you boil the kettle you should actually wait 20-30 minutes before putting it in the flask as it should be around 70 degrees and not boiling. If it’s boiling it kills the nutrients in the formula. So we have a flask filled with the hot water, then we either have another flask with completely cooled boiled water or we use the just rapid cool. If we made a 6oz bottle for example we’d do 2oz hot water and the rest cooled water. Hope this helps! X

@Parris thank you so much for this! That's cleared it up!
