Potty Training Dread

Honestly my son wasnt potty trained my son till he was 3 and could physically understand and tell me he had to go my daughter who was born in 2023 wants to try and copy her brother but isnt there to understand it just yet so I’ll probably try around 2 1/2 with her

My daughter is 1.5 and I'm thinking of starting over the Christmas season. We loosely followed the big little feeling program with my son and honestly It's easier but I hear what your saying with potty training it require an immediate response but let me tell you it feels way easier in the clean up realm. One major thing for us is what we used for potties. We had a little one we used some but we fairly quickly transitioned to the toilet seats that have kid seats in the lid. We put them on every toilet in the house. Easy for kids and not in the way of adults. My son is 3.5 and fully potty trained and had been for ages. He takes himself when he needs to go. Asks for privacy until he needs his butt wiped and is down to only pull ups for bedtime not naptime. We even drove 13hrs in two days with him in underwear no accidents

I think starting with elimination communication could make the process a lot easier. Our kid isn’t toilet trained (19months) but tells us when he’s peed/pooped and when he wants us to change his diaper. Not every single time unprompted but will answer if asked. We started reading books on it and letting him know what we’re doing in the bathroom (mamas doing a peepee) so he knows it’s normal. We showed him a little potty too but we don’t use it yet. We won’t be toilet training til he moves to the next classroom in daycare cos they don’t have accommodations for toilet trained kids in his current room (18-24mo$

My biggest concern is going out 😂 like how HOW! WHAT do you do if they pee at the library lol that’s why I didn’t even start. Just got her an Elmo potty that sings and flushes and she sits there when I need to pee and we wash our hands afterwards. But she hasn’t peed there yet
