Totally normal and natural and it will continue long past 10 months. The time it bothers me is when it might get zinc cream or Vaseline on their fingers, so I usually give her an unused diaper to play with to keep her distracted.
It's new to them. They are just learning about themselves
My toddler is 2.5 but I always am just like “yeah that’s your vulva” and move on. If it’s before she is clean, I tell her we can’t touch our vulva until it’s clean. And then we obviously wash her hand afterwards. But yeah we just name it like any other body part
just move her hand out of the way but i don’t think it’s a huge issue that needs to be stopped. it’s natural for littles to do, they’re just curious. tell her what it is like any other body part
My son started doing same when he was 18 months old. I did some finding and found that they are just curious and learning about their body. They will eventually stop at some point and move on to another body part. I just tell him no and move his hands.
I definitely had that problem for months, and still do (she’s 18m now). She’ll usually grab it or just feel around, or grab anything nearby and put it there. I’ve tried to get her to stop and teach her not to. I honestly think that they’re just exploring new parts that they haven’t felt before and are probably curious as to why we keep going down there and wiping them and stuff
