Pregnant after having a NICU baby

I got a positive test almost after 2 and a half years later. I’m scared for this pregnancy and want it to go full term. Any advice I’m high risk.

Hey, I'm in UK here, 2yrs ago I had my son at 24wks after my waters broke at 22wks. Last year I fell pregnant and from around 16wks I was put into a premature clinic, so I cervical scans once every 2wks to check the length etc as given my previous birth I was high risk. At 21 wks they could see my cervix opening, so I had a cervical stitch put in, under epidural , continued scans till 34wks.... Stitch removed at 37wks and I have birth at 39! Baby was fine no nicu stay, Although I had tbe stitch i was always told my waters could still break, however I think God was watching over me ❤️ I hope that helps , I'm sure the US must have the same x

My first pregnancy I had an emergency c section at 28+5weeks due to preeclampsia. I got pregnant 9 months later so high risk for both those reasons and I was 33 turning 34 on my due date. I took baby aspirin during the recommend time with my doctor checked my blood pressure regularly. Tried to eat better, less salt, more water than I probably could stand. And I was monitored a lot more closely. She came at 40 weeks on the dot. Water broke at 4am. We now share a birthday. I was so scared I would have enough preemie. I celebrated when I hit 29 weeks, got a cake made cause I passed that point. Celebrated every week I remained pregnant

@Khyia That's awesome! I just found out I'm pregnant again after a preeclampsia preemie too. I want to do whatever it takes to not need to be induced

@Emily man I tried so hard, I never take medicine how I’m supposed to and I took that baby aspiring faithfully. Same with tracking my blood pressure cause at my 28 week appointment with my first is when it spiked. It was truly out of no where. And it helped I had the same doctor and nurses so they were super familiar with me and what happened so I didn’t have to rehash anything. We moved when I was 32 weeks and I sent them a picture of my full term baby. They were probably as happy as we were lol

@Khyia That's awesome! Did your BP go back to normal after your first? Mine seems to be hanging out in the low 130s over 90s. Plus I have serious ptsd over having my BP taken. Nothing makes my BP skyrocket like taking my BP lol

@Emily not really. I’m actually going to see my doctor this week about it because I had some testing for my veteran disability and they said it wasn’t controlled. But I didn’t feel any different when my blood pressure was 169/103 and I was in the hospital for 5 days trying to get it under control. Oh and I feel you everytime I have to do it at the hospital it’s always a lot higher than if I do it in my pajamas at home. So while pregnant I tested 3 times a day when I woke up, in the middle of the day and before bed. I would log it in apple health and then pass those numbers to them

I’m from the uk and had a premature baby in January, I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant! I was prescribed 150mg aspirin, and I’m being monitored for growth scans and consultant appointments x

Thank you all you moms for sharing your advices. I have my first appointment Monday to test and see how far along I am. It’s hard for me because I’m also diabetic and I need to start on insulin while pregnant.
