We have this issue our newborn is 2 days old and if he drinks more then 2oz in one go he throws it all up so we’ve started burping him every oz and then going agen and he seems to manage more

@Sian we’ve been burping every oz as well. We haven’t had the sick but she gets to two Oz and just starts spitting it back out burps and goes back to sleep so idk what else I Can do…. I know it’s not the intention but when they say it’s not enough it makes me feel like I’m failing

Yeah mine is 4 days old and we are having to strip him off to wake him up so he will feed, he has started taking more now but I've been panicking like crazy that he's not eating enough and that he's too sleepy. Midwife came day 2 and said he should be taking 60ml a feeding but we were told colostrum would be enough until my milk came in and I just felt like I didn't have a clue what I was doing

Jackson was the same, he still had loads of fluid in his system the first couple of days so took a while to get him eating. We tended to do a smaller amount more frequently. He's 11 days old now and up to 3 ounces every 3-4 hours, he's had a bad tummy for a couple of days so letting his system settle before we increase it again. Takes a little while to learn their particular preferences every baby is different

My little boy is 8 days old and we are told 2oz Is perfect but we do feed him every 2 hours. That maybe what they mean by enough? He was only on 30ml every two hours at 2 days old x
