Christmas Cards for nursery

I have a question on whether people give Christmas cards to kids/ staff at the nursery? We got a goodie bag and a list of children in the group and staff for Christmas card list. I know it’s not an obligation but what do people usually do? It seems too many cards to give to all staff and kids in the group.

I feel like kids won’t care about the cards but staff might appreciate them.

I’d give personal gift to the key person as they’re the ones doing the observations etc. and the staff a chocolate box to share with a card to the room that your child is in :)

I’ve ended up doing cards for all the kids at nursery as we were given quite a few from kids so I cracked under the pressure! I’ve then just done a card for all the staff, I might get them a box of chocolates. We don’t see my daughter’s key worker much and she really likes pretty much all the staff, so wasn’t going to do something for one specific staff member.

I write a Christmas card for the ground of staff as a Thankyou, don't usually do Xmas cards, but my 3yr old has asked to this year as she wants to deliver them. Her key worker has said if I provide the cards she'll write them for my daughter to hand out

I disagree with giving just the key worker a gift. Speaking from someone who works in a nursery, it’s not just the key worker caring for your child. All the staff in the room will care, cuddle, play, change, serve food/help feed, know your child’s likes and dislikes, will plan activities etc. The parents I work will either get a box of chocolates/biscuits for the staff to share or get small individual gifts for everyone like a candle and a card

I bought a nice Christmas Yule Log cake for staff to share and just one card for the team from my little girl, figured they'd be inundated with boxes of chocolates etc so figured abit of cake would be nice to have on a break with a cuppa or something instead, my daughter has a favourite staff member who treats her like she treats her own kids but I felt weird just buying for one staff member so I didn't get any individual gifts this year, my little one has only been there since September🤷‍♀️ maybe next year I'd gift someone more specific

A lot of useful advice! Thank you 🙏

We’ve done a homemade one and will just do it to all the nursery staff. My son isn’t fussed by cards so we’re not doing them for the other children

My son is 15 months old. We’re not doing cards for the other kids 😂 but I did get a gift for his keyworker and a box of chocolates for the room staff
