If he’s into gum, I think a selection of different packs and flavours is cute. Just like you’d buy a chocolate fan chocolate or a tea drinker tea.
He may think that you’re insinuating that his breath stinks 😭😂.
@Sarah lol I hope not. But I’ve noticed he’s a big gum chewer. He constantly leaves gum wrappers in our department vehicle and last week during a meeting he spit his gum out to start chewing a new flavor. I was going to do a mix of fruity and minty.
No, it's definitely not the sort of thing you give someone as a Christmas present.
@Rachel he’s not really a coffee drinker and he’s diabetic so he doesn’t eat candy. What other stocking stuffer type gifts would you suggest?
@Savannah does he drink alcohol?
I think it’s nice and thoughtful in this scenario because you’re 100% sure he likes gum a lot. If it was different, it could be seen differently. But you know he’s always chewing gum so I think it’s nice like how you would notice if someone always ate chocolate and got them chocolate
An assortment sounds fine, I pressed no because I imagined a little pack of gum 😅 Having said that, I got nothing for anyone... but we did do secret santa
I wouldn't dare, simply because the most obvious is that he will think his breath stinks and 2. Might make it weird that you notice he always has chewing gum I would go with socks over this 😅
@Sophie lol no. He always chews Extra gum so I was going to get four of the 35 ct. packs in different flavors.
@Rachel I’m sure he does, but he we also work in government so I don’t want to get anything that could be seen as a no no. If I was in non profit still I would definitely get wine.
Smellies?
I think any gift where you notice someone’s interest is thoughtful! I had someone gift me a bunch of mini candy canes so I could have them all year because they knew I loved peppermint.
I think it is fine as it is like an inside joke on how much they chew it! it’s a thoughtful gift as you noticed what he likes. if you were just getting it for someone random then i’d say no!😂 definitely agree with patience, a little note clarifying it’s because he’s always chewing gum and not because his breath smells!!😂x

I always chew gum and I always loved it when my colleagues would give me gum, sometimes they would even return from their travels with some new flavours and it was the best, most considerate gift! If you’re worried, just write a note something like I notice you love chewing gum, here’s a stock for next month!
of course! it’s thoughtful :)
It would be cool if you could get a very wacky flavor as well.
I would say yes as long as it’s not like a single pack of gum lol. I think a few different flavors wrapped up fancy would be cute and thoughtful since you know he likes gum! I’d be happy with that if I chewed gum lol
Last time I was offered gum I made a joke and said "that's a polite way of telling me my breath stinks" they laughed, I'm terrible 😂
Can’t go wrong with a gas card
If you know he loves gum, I say go for it! Just put a note in his Christmas card saying something like "to add to your collection of wrappers in the car" or something silly like that so they don't get offended thinking it's their breath! I'm a big gift giver I think it's very thoughtful of you!
I’m sure I read somewhere if he’s a type 1 diabetic I’m pretty sure certain gums lower their blood sugar so might be why he chews it a lot.
An assortment of gum is a nice gift. I remember an old work friend who got me the drinks, I always drank at work and I really appreciated her. Thoughtful gifts will make anyone happy.
Sounds nice to me, something small and related to things they like! When my coworkers do gifts it's often just like a little baggie of candy or a card and a candy cane, something small.
Update: I went with an assortment of gum and he very much appreciated it! He was like you know me so well and told me he was so happy to have stockpiles for his car, living room, and desk now! If you ever want to know, gum is absolutely an acceptable gift for the gum lover in your life! Lol
I think it’s fine! I’ve never given coworkers any type of Christmas gifts so I’d consider even the smallest of gifts to be beyond nice haha :)
