Starting out

I've literally just put my 12 week old daughter in her first reusable nappy Was wondering, do you HAVE to use a liner as we haven't this time but I will going forward if needed

I've found you don't have to, but it does make disposing of the poo a lot easier, particularly when they get a bit older. I didn't find it mattered so much when he was so little

@Anna thank you Her poo obviously isn't solid yet but I was wondering if it was worth buying them......and wondering what impact they have on the environment in comparison to a disposable nappy

You can get reusable liners too, I think mine were Bambino Mio (I was given them so not totally sure), they can double up as reusable wipes too.

I think I read that baby poop is water soluble until 6 months so we just put dirty nappies in the wash with the wet ones. After six months (I guess when they start solids?) we will use a disposable bamboo liner to make it easier to dispose of poop down the toilet.

@Anna any idea as to why she might be leaking? We've tried two this evening and both times she's leaked where the leg bit is xx

I use Little and Bloomz pocket nappies. Maybe check the leg fit, on mine there are two lines of poppers around the waist, the lower row adjusts the leg fit. I also double stuff mine which helps with the absorbency. I try and use a bamboo or charcoal insert on the bottom and a microfibre insert on top of it (both inside the pocket). I've also found/read that adjusting the inserts to be a little further forward for boys and a little further back for girls due to the direction they wee. Hope this helps, it was a lot of trail and error and YouTube videos to work it all out
