It did take some getting used to all the weird noises they make, it freaked my partner out the most so we ended up buying a monitor with our first which was great. Unfortunately then the company went into administration and they were all recalled because they had to stop supporting the app. This time I have bought the nanit pro which works off a camera and tracking a pattern on the sleep bag/band. It’s quite a lot more then I would have liked to have spent but got good discount on Black Friday and using the Amazon baby wishlist discount on top. Bought extra sleep bags on Vinted. I don’t think it does body temperature but that’s not too hard to check without disturbing baby. I was looking at owlet and also was concerned about some of the reviews. I looked at other brands but a lot of them had alarms that go off by the baby rather then on a device which is great for first few months but doesn’t feel like it would work aswell once you start to leave them on their own.
LOVE our Owlet, I don’t find it makes me more anxious as some people say I find it makes me less anxious. I still use it on the 3yo when she’s not well as I can see when she’s spiking a temp with her heart rate. Will probably use with next 👶🏻 too.
I used a sense-u baby monitor with my first. It clips onto her nappy and alerts my phone
I don't have any advice on gadgets as I never got anything like that 😅, but I just wanted to say it's very normal to worry and to check on them a million times in the night to start with. It's all part of the process of learning about your baby and eventually you sort of figure out whats normal for them like how their breathing sounds or what little noises they make. I only started using baby monitors etc when I moved bub into his own room but that's just me. I'm sure lots of other ladies will have better advice on which devices they've used x
