Immunisations

I've always been for immunisations and have never thought otherwise. However, my friend is very anti-vax and it got me thinking as my little one is due his in January. What are peoples opinions on immunisations? For and against, I'm here for them all! 💉 (no judgement on people's comments please)

I'm pro immunisations. Having seen my LB go through 3x immunisations, it has been tough. But the 2 minutes of tears for the protection against the dozen or so moderate to severe and life threatening diseases seems fair to me. There are risks to immunisations, but looking at the rates of reactions in babies (different to adults apparently) and the risk of getting the diseases, vaccination makes sense to me. My brother was very unwell as a child with meningitis, another friend is partially deaf from complications from meningitis - so that alone made me pro vaccination!

Will be getting all the shots for my baby. I trust medical science

I went to school with a girl who died of tetanus because her mum didn’t vaccinate her as a child. Sorry to be so serious but it’s neglect if you don’t vaccinate your children. The government have no reason to put things in a vaccine. They see your bank details via Experian etc etc they have your NI number the government know everything about you there’s no reason why people would make vaccines to track or whatever conspiracy people think. Your phone literally tracks everything you do and shares it with government etc sorry a topic that just angers me 🤣🙈 xxxx

Don't get me wrong, when I see immy the bloody owl post pop out of the letter box my first thing I think of is "oh no I'm not putting him through that again" but then my sensible part of my brain kicks in and I make sure he has all his vaccines. I've seen so many kids seriously ill that the vaccines would have protected them from. Medical professionals know more about medical stuff than I possibly could so I trust them fully. There's so much conflicting information for and against vaccines online that I don't know how people can trust all the things they see that turn them against vaccinations

I am a medical professional where half of my job is giving immunizations. I believe that immunizations obviously work, however research coming out on certain aspects of vaccination safety had me starting to question how many vaccines we are giving to our little ones in such a short time. I am pro vaccination to an extent. For my little guy we gave him Vaxelis which hits the major life threatening illnesses, however his pediatrician and myself decided other vaccines (such as rotavirus for example) were unnecessary for him. In my opinion depending on each child and their situation some vaccines can be either delayed or avoided.

I’m not very pro vaccinations but now that I’m having a baby I will be , I want me and my baby to be healthy !!
