You can also pay privately for testing if you don’t want to wait.
Hertility health = very good
As Andi said above, you can get basic testing from GP if you’ve been trying for a year (under 35), or if you’re over 35 they will see you after 6 months of trying. If you’ve had any miscarriages you can try asking GP for support before this. GPs (in my experience) are a bit clueless about the NICE guidelines around fertility testing and criteria, so you might need to advocate for yourself. Get your partner to have tests too. Is there a reason you’re concerned?
We paid £400 to have a couples MOT. They did everything to check!! Worth paying as NHS don’t check AMH and this is your egg count which is the important one!! Also it’s couples as a lot of the time it’s male factor and sperm issues. So make sure your partner has all the tests done too. Yes it’s a lot of money but allowed us to plan - we brought forward our family plans as was told would probably need ivf to conceive. It allowed me to take control of the situation
@Francesca I think the testing for AMH on the NHS depends on your local NHS trust as I had mine tested on the NHS in 2022
@Heather ah ok that’s good! Maybe I did too I can remember as it was 2021. If you go private you will get your results next week - nhs you will be waiting months
@Francesca I was seen a month later which surprised me as I was expecting a long wait
NHS will not support until you’ve tried to conceive for 2 years (depends on your area and age) I recommend you got Window to the womb or a private doctor to have an intravaginal scan to make sure everything is fine and do some blood test. I did my health eco with Window to the womb and was great, now I had one done through the NHS one year later as part of the infertility treatment and was the same
@Veronica Vidal this is not accurate, NICE guidelines state you can seek support if you’ve been trying 1 year if you’re under 35 years old and 6 months if you are over 35. If you’ve been told to wait 2 years that is inaccurate advice!
On the NHS the will do fertility investigations after you have been trying for over a year (or 6 months if you are 36 or over). https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/infertility/
