Gift

Is anyone getting/ has got their community midwife a gift? Mine has been absolutely incredible my whole pregnancy and quite honestly will genuinely miss her she’s been that great. I just wanted to get her a little something to say thank you but don’t know if it’s normal? Thanks x

I’ve bought both delivery suite and community midwife a gift. As a midwife myself there’s nothing better than a thoughtful message in a card - it means a lot and we can use it as reflection/service user feedback towards revalidation/appraisals. We honestly appreciate anything (we never expect anything!). I’ve bought my midwife a candle/diffuser and some thank you chocolates. Thinking of a small bunch of dried flowers too but depends on prices when the florist opens again x

@Clare ahh amazing!! I’m sure we’re both Sunderland too? So it’s good to know they’re allowed to accept gifts as I know some places aren’t allowed to accept gifts. Hope everything went well with your birth 💙

Yeah I work in Sunderland and had my baby there too. We are allowed to accept gifts, just not money… which I’m not sure anyone would ever do 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 It went fine thanks, very quick once I got to 4cm but that’s pretty standard for me! Hope yours went well too x

We brought a share bag of chocolates for our birthing team
