Potty training 😩

I need help potty training my 20 month old. I've tried everything and she still hates it. I've been putting panties on her so she feels the wetness and she still pees on herself.

It takes a lot of time. I tried everything when with my eldest. I even asked her dad to help me cause she’s always a daddy’s girl. My mom told me that when they’re on the potty, have them watch something or read a book. And it worked, kept them occupied for good while. There are some parents that have sang songs while their child is potty training as well.

She might just not be ready.

@Rochelle thank you so much for that advice. I will try reading her a book

@Lexi u might be right but she's smart. She's already counting to 10 knows her ABCs and she talk like 4 yr old..I mean hold a whole conversation. Her vocabulary is amazing. All she needs is to be potty trained and I'm also trying to get her off the pacifier

There is a good potty song on YouTube on the channel circle time. I play that for my little girl. We also have hard floors do we have done two or three days where she didn't have anything on and just asked every 30min do you need to go. We had a training potty in the room with us and it has helped a lot also got pullups with puppies on them and told her puppies do not like to get wet help keep them dry and happy. That had helped the most.

As far as paci goes poke a hole in it and each week make it bigger

My 19 month old counts high and knows her ABCs but I know she’s no where near potty training. She will pee and poop wherever if she doesn’t have a diaper on. Respectfully, I feel a child being intelligent has nothing to do with whether they’re ready for potty training or not.

Maybe just take a break and come back to it! It sounds like she’s not ready. I’m sure it has nothing to do with her intellectually, she’s just still a lil baby! My son just sat on the potty all on his own and went one time and I was shocked and tried to get it to happen again but he wouldn’t so I just took a break. I still say ok let’s go pee pee! And point out whenever I notice him go in the tub lol but imma give it a few more months!

@Korissa You're absolutely right. I gave up. She hates the potty. Whenever I say let's go to the potty. She screams and yells and starts to cry so I stopped. I definitely don't want to pressure her
